Frazey Ford and Ariane Moffatt at SuperFolk 2025

This year marks the 8th edition of this warm, family-friendly music festival where the human experience is at the heart of it all. Presented by SiriusXM, the event will take place Friday, August 22 and Saturday, August 23 at Basler Park in Morin-Heights. As an eco-conscious event, SuperFolk brings together a stellar folk lineup, local vendors, artisans, food spots, and activities for all ages.

Tickets are now available on lepointdevente.com. Admission is free for anyone under 18.

This year, we’re excited to reveal two artists from our Friday, August 22 lineup: Vancouver-based singer-songwriter and actress Frazey Ford, and evocative lyricist and versatile musician Ariane Moffatt.

Frazey Ford, a Soul-Americana artist and founding member of the beloved folk group The Be Good Tanyas, released her critically acclaimed album U kin B the Sun in 2020 on Arts & Crafts.

Ariane Moffatt, fresh off a performance of her song Jouer on Star Académie last night, surprised fans by announcing a brand-new album, Airs de jeux, now available as of midnight. She’ll be taking the SuperFolk stage with her band as she kicks off her summer festival tour.

In true SuperFolk fashion, we won’t be revealing the rest of the lineup in advance — we prefer to keep the spirit of discovery alive! Expect cozy folk vibes, a children’s show on Saturday starting at 4 p.m., and a soulful, funky performance to close the evening.

MUSIC INITIATION

This year, we’re sparking curiosity and creativity by inviting festivalgoers — young and old — to take part in a music initiation session. The goal is to create a space for learning, sharing, and inclusion. Attendees will be encouraged to pick up one or more instruments and explore them with guidance from professional musicians. Instruments will be provided, thanks in part to our partner Godin Guitars.

Following the music initiation, festivalgoers will feel more comfortable joining the monthly Bluegrass Jam Sessions at Café White et compagnie, led by singer-songwriter and SuperFolk’s artistic director David Laflèche, along with members of the Big O String Band. Since Café White is open to all ages — and festival admission is free for under-18s — these jam sessions are a fun and accessible way to pass on musical knowledge and encourage youth participation in the local music scene.

A LOOK BACK — AND AHEAD

Over the years, many incredible artists have graced the SuperFolk stage, including Basia Bulat, Leif Vollebekk, Gabrielle Shonk, Jason Bajada, Tom Chicoine, The Franklin Electric, The Barr Brothers, Martha Wainwright, Bobby Bazini, Marie-Pierre Arthur, Veranda, Catherine Durand, David Laflèche, Geneviève Racette, Les Passagers, Nolton Lake, and many more.

WE’RE COMING TO YOU!

Leading up to the festival, we’ll be visiting Ferme Kerr in Gore to host a musical corn roast on Sunday, August 10, 2025.The next Bluegrass Jam Session will take place at Café White et compagnie in Saint-Sauveur on April 14.
