The use of loops, samplers and effects as long as these tools are triggered and controlled live by the musicians or technicians on stage.

By using the NoPlayBack.org logo or badge, the artist (or group) undertakes to respect the following criteria during certified concerts:

100% live vocals
No pre-recorded vocals may be used to replace or double the sung or rapped parts during the performance.

Instruments played live
Instruments must be played live on stage, with the exception of a few ambient sounds or non-melodic textures if they do not replace a musician.

No instrumental playback
No pre-recorded tapes (playback) may be used to simulate the performance of musicians or backing singers.

Be in the moment
The artist is free from the constraints of playing with pre-recorded tapes and creates a unique performance for the audience, always true, human and particular to the moment.
